Watkins Glen Race Report

Series: SVRA Group 6, Trans Am Series TA2

Driver: Scott Borchetta 

SVRA: Scott Borchetta and the Scott Borchetta Racing team earned their 18th consecutive SVRA Group 6 win on Sunday after also taking the victory in the first event of the weekend on Saturday. Borchetta has been undefeated this season in his No. 98 1969 Chevrolet Corvette. 

TA2: In a double-header weekend for the Trans Am Series, Borchetta scored two top 10s in his TA2 class. The driver of the No. 48 Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Camaro raced hard on Saturday to score a 10th-place result. On Sunday, Borchetta drove a smart race, avoiding a major incident in the final laps of the feature to score a seventh-place finish in TA2 competition.

“This was our first time at Watkins Glen, racing against so many great drivers who’ve been coming here for years. It was a huge learning curve but I’m ultimately happy with our results.  The SBR Team continues to put fast cars on the track and it’s great to leave here with two victories in SVRA’s Group 6 (with ‘69 Corvette) and two Top 10’s in Trans Am 2.”
