Trans Am Series TA2 Recap:
Scott Borchetta earned his career-best TA2 finish in Saturday’s feature race at Road America. Out qualifying some of the biggest names in racing, he lined up seventh for the 25-lap event and steadily improved his position from there. By lap five, he was battling for the fifth spot and completed the pass just one lap later. The field got spread out as the race went caution-free, but Borchetta was able to advance one more position prior to taking the checkered flag. The fourth-place result was his first top-five in TA2 competition.
Borchetta’s impressive run earned him the Chillout Systems Move of the Race award.
Scott Borchetta, driver of the No. 48 Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Ford Mustang:
“What a day for our Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers team! We wanted to make sure we got a nice, clean start getting through one and two and from there it was just working on our race pace. We just wanted to keep consistent, good laps and we really only had one little mistake. I’m so proud of this team. So much work goes into putting these race cars on the track every week and days like today wouldn’t be possible without them.”
NASCAR Xfinity Series Recap:
Jade Buford and the No. 48 Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers team had a strong start to the day at Road America, advancing to the second round of NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying and ultimately earning an 11th-place starting position. However, their race was cut short following a rear suspension failure during Stage Two. Buford and the Big Machine Racing team were scored with a 34th-place finish.
Jade Buford, driver of the No. 48 Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Chevrolet:
“Patrick Donahue (crew chief) and the team did a great job preparing a fast Camaro for today’s race. We were fast in practice and had a strong qualifying run. Unfortunately, the race didn’t go the way we wanted it to, but they still knew we were there. We’ve been getting faster every week; we just need a little more luck on our side.”
