Race 25 of 33 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series

Location: Kansas Speedway

Format: 200 Laps - 300 Miles

Ross Chastain’s Finish: 5th

Welcome, N.C. - NASCAR Cup Series driver, Ross Chastain, joined Big Machine Racing for his second race with the team in Kansas this last weekend. Chastain began the weekend with a p15 qualifying run with a lap time of 31.567 seconds - just 0.656 seconds off of the lead time of Brandon Jones in the 19 car.

Just after 2pm CT on Saturday, the green flag was in the air and we were racing! NASCAR made the executive decision to move up the opening ceremonies as weather was quickly approaching. Within just 5 laps, Ross Chastain managed to work his way up to 11th place - a gain of four spots.

Our third caution of the day came just about one hour into the race for rain. After running a few laps under caution, the green flag was seen waving once more for a two-lap shootout to end Stage 2. Rain continued to fall at the Kansas Speedway resulting in a red flag on lap 94. NASCAR ultimately called the race as the rain was there to stay. The race only went 93 laps for 139.5 miles. Ross Chastain finished the day with a top-5 finish of 5th place in the Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Chevrolet.
