Race 24 of 33 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series

Location: Darlington Raceway

Format: 147 Laps - 200 Miles

Ross Chastain’s Finish: 15th

Darlington S.C. - NASCAR Cup Series driver, Ross Chastain, made his Big Machine Racing debut this past weekend at the Darlington Raceway for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200. Qualifying for the race began early Saturday morning when Chastain ran a lap time of 30.074 seconds, securing an 11th place starting position.

Just a little after 2pm ET, the green flag was waving and we were racing. After just 5 laps, Ross had already broken into the top-10 and into 8th place. Just 1 hour into the race, rain had made its way into the area resulting in a red flag and all cars were brought to pit road for crews to cover them up. The rain delay lasted just over two and a half hours resulting in different track conditions. Ross could be heard on the radio saying the car was too loose one minute and tight another. After battling handling issues and making some adjustments, Chastain was able to maintain and finish in 15th place under the lights of Darlington Raceway.

Ross Chastain will return to the No. 48 Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Chevrolet this coming weekend for the Kansas Lottery 300 at the Kansas Speedway.
