Race 15 of 33 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series

Location: Nashville Superspeedway (1.33 Mile D-shaped Oval)

Format: 188 Laps / 250.04 Miles

Reddick’s Finish: 21st

LEBANON, Tenn. - With temperatures reaching as much as 99°F and 55% humidity on Saturday, The Tennessee Lottery 250 weekend at the Nashville Superspeedway challenged driver and machine. Disaster struck early in the weekend on Friday when driver, Tyler Reddick, shifted from 3rd to 2nd gear - blowing the engine. Missing the remainder of practice, the team went to work in the brutal heat, quickly swapping engines in preparation for qualifying and the Tennessee Lottery 250 on Saturday.

With the new engine in the car, Reddick was 16th in line to qualify, at the 1.33 mile concrete oval. A lap time of 31.087 seconds landed Reddick with an 18th place qualifying position. Prior to the start of the race, Reddick had to drop to the rear of the field - a penalty for the engine change.

The race lasted just over 2 hours and 5 minutes and resulted in long green flag runs. The race had 13 lead-changes among 5 drivers and 5 cautions for 27 laps on Saturday - none of which involved the No. 48 Lady A “Summer State Of Mind” Chevrolet. By the end of Stage 1, Reddick managed to drive the car up to p23 with complaints of a tight car entering and exiting turns - a problem that would last the whole race, despite many adjustments. With a quick pit stop and pit road penalties for other teams, Reddick started Stage 2 from p16.

Reddick managed to break his way into the top-10 - even making his way up to p6 with teams heading to pit road. While continuing to battle a tight car and a “chatter” in the right-front on braking, Reddick ended the day with a 21st place finish.
