QUOTES
JADE BUFORD, DRIVER
“Road courses are the races that I look forward to the most because I know exactly what to expect and what we should be capable of. The team has been working hard to get our Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Camaro ready to go and we have a good game plan in place. If we can avoid getting caught up in other people’s mistakes and keep our car clean, we should be in a good position at the end to battle it out and hopefully get our first top-10 of the season.”
SCOTT BORCHETTA, OWNER
“The team continues to improve and this weekend holds every possibility for the season’s best result so far. Jade’s confidence in the car, in the track and the team are sky high. Time to put our heads down and go get a strong finish.”
NOTES
MID-OHIO EXPERIENCE: While Jade Buford has never made a NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, he does have plenty of experience on the road course. In 2010, he earned his first Rolex GT podium finish at the track. He also won an IMSA pole award there in 2013. His most recent start at Mid-Ohio came last June when he joined team owner Scott Borchetta for the SVRA Enduro Feature. The duo won the endurance race in Borchetta’s 1969 Chevrolet Corvette.
BUFORD ADVANCES TO AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR SEMI-FINALS: Monday night, Buford was featured on the Season 13 premiere of American Ninja Warrior on NBC. The 33-year-old driver advanced to the semi-finals, becoming the first NASCAR driver to do so. Buford didn’t quite make it to the end of the treacherous course, but his quick time still qualified him to move on to the semi-finals. Stay tuned to see how he does in the next round.
ROAD-COURSE PROWESS: Buford has an extensive road-racing background. The Tennessee native started competing when he was 18 years old in Porsche Club Racing which led him to racing in both the IMSA and Pirelli World Challenge Series, where he’s scored multiple wins. In addition, Buford has raced in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the Rolex GT and the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona. He’s also spent his time as a driver coach on road courses and continues to give guidance to team owner Scott Borchetta, who competes in SVRA and the Trans Am Series TA2 class.
SPIKED COOLERS: Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers have become the go-to cocktail for the summer. The refreshing ready-to-drink vodka juice pouches are made with real fruit juice and are available in three flavors – Tropical, Lemonade and Cranberry. The eco-friendly pouches come eight to a box and can be served chilled or frozen, making them perfect for the pool, the lake, or the racetrack!
