Atlanta Speed Tour Race Report

Location: Road Atlanta (2.54-mile road course)

Series: SVRA Group 6, Trans Am 2

Driver: Scott Borchetta 

SVRA: Scott Borchetta and the Scott Borchetta Racing team put together a strong weekend during the Atlanta Speed Tour, extending their win total on the year in Group 6 competition. Borchetta swept the weekend in his 1969 Chevrolet Corvette and the team remains undefeated with six total Group 6 class wins in 2021. Borchetta also participated in the Enduro race on Sunday with co-driver Edward Sevadjian and captured the team’s third class victory on the year. 

Trans Am 2: In the third Trans Am 2 event of the season, Borchetta started at the tail end of the field in his Big Machine Spiked Coolers Ford Mustang after needing to change tires following Saturday’s qualifying. Taking the green flag from 26th, he wasted little time advancing his position. By time the first full-track caution flag came out on lap 10 he was up to 18th. Once back under green he continued to press forward to take the checkered flag in the 10th position in the 40-lap feature race. The finish was his second top-10 effort of the season.
