Race 29 of 33 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series

Location: Charlotte Motor Speedway
Road Course

Format: 72 laps - 167.04 miles

Marco Andretti’s Finish: 36th

Welcome, N. C. - Marco Andretti made his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start with Big Machine Racing on the Charlotte Roval this past weekend. With an early qualifying run in Group A, Marco locked in a lap time of 84.175 seconds and a starting 30th place starting position. With limited seat time and an eagerness to learn, Andretti strapped in for the start of the Drive For The Cure 250. Quickly finding his rhythm, Marco began making moves and found his way into the top-15. Securing a 14th place finish at the end of Stage 2.

In the 2nd of 3 Stages, Marco could be heard on the radio stating that the car was tight, both turning left and right. Despite being too tight, he went on to say that the car had great drive-off ability exiting the turns and good braking capabilities. During the stage break, Andretti brought the car in for four fresh tires, fuel and some adjustments.

With just 22 laps remaining, the Big Machine Racing team suffered an unfortunate end to the day as the No. 48 of Andretti made contact with the No. 27 of Burton that had previously spun around. Andretti was taken to the infield care center to be checked out - he came over the radio stating he had hurt his wrist again - a previous injury.

Results:
Practice: 30th fastest
Qualifying: 30th
Stage 1: 24th
Stage 2: 14th
Final: 36th
