QUOTES
JADE BUFORD, DRIVER OF THE NO. 48 BIG MACHINE VODKA SPIKED COOLERS CAMARO
“We’re heading back to Darlington this weekend and I think we have a lot to look forward to. We’ve grown a lot as a team since our first visit there, so I’m excited to see what we can do. Our Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers team didn’t have the smoothest outing last time with a mechanical difficulty, so I’m ready to return to the ‘Lady in Black’ and give her a proper run.”
NOTES
DARLINGTON REBOUND: Big Machine Racing’s first visit to Darlington Raceway did not go according to plan. Driver Jade Buford started the race from 18th position, but his Dan Gurney Throwback car had a mechanical issue that put the team multiple laps down after making repairs. Buford was scored with a 35th-place finish and is hoping for a much better result when the team heads back to Darlington this weekend.
This season on oval tracks, Buford and Big Machine Racing have scored one top-10 and 10 top-20 finishes, an impressive feat for a single-car team in its first season. Buford’s first ever NASCAR Xfinity Series start on an oval came at Homestead-Miami Speedway at the beginning of the season in which he captured a 20th-place result.
APPEARANCE ALERT: Before he hits the track on Saturday, Big Machine Racing’s Jade Buford will stop by the Chevy Display in the Darlington Raceway Fan Zone for a Q&A at 1:15 p.m. ET.
